Duke Harvey

Managing Director
Duke is the founder of Dorton Demolition & Excavation Limited and has a life time of demolition and dismantling experience. He is a full member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and is the chief estimator for the organisation. Duke’s expertise encompasses many types of projects ranging from simple house clearance to massive oil and gas platforms. His knowledge of bulk excavation, ground remediation and contaminated land projects make him the ideal oracle for your feasibility enquiry and development possibilities.


Terry Quarmby

Terry is a forty seven year veteran of the industry. He has completed the circle of contractor to consultant and back again. Terry is a former President of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and is a serving member of the National Council. His duties at Dorton include Director of Safety and The Environment, a role to which he is ably qualified with a Masters degree in Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a chartered Environmentalist and a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).


Peter Young

Contracts Manager
Peter is another Dorton veteran and progressed from site level up to a senior management position. With over 40 years experience on a plethora of projects peter is the ideal man to deal with any situation or issue that may arise. He has extensive knowledge of the asbestos removal process undertaking training at management level through the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) schemes.


Peter Walsh

Development Manager
Peter is a key player and accomplished liaison officer with our current and potential client base. Although not a career demolition man, his extensive knowledge of the scrap industry as a former buyer and surveyor for the bulk earth moving sector makes him ideally placed to advise on the many facets of the company’s activities. Peter has learned his trade well and is a proficient and capable administrator offering our clients integrated and sustainable solutions for their development needs.


Dave Owen

Civil Engineering Manager
Dave is an experienced civil engineer and joined Dorton to further enhance his career. Dave saw this as an opportunity to broaden his knowledge and has not been disappointed. He is now an integral part of the organisation and manages the ‘in the ground’ activities as well as advising on all structural considerations and new build aspects.


Jane Lawrence

Office Manager
Jane has been at Dorton for a little over one year and has managed the office administration through a number of important efficiency changes. She is at the centre of the organisations hub controlling plant, transport and labour requirements as well as dealing with the mundane processes associated with office life. Jane is the liaison between site, office and the client and is remarkably patient, efficient and organised.


John Ashley

Quantity Surveyor
John’s background and early schooling was in civil and building engineering although he has mastered the change over to the demolition, asbestos removal and bulk excavation industry extremely effectively. John has a propensity for detail in all his undertakings and a good knowledge of industry ‘best practice’ as well as the statutory and legislative requirements necessary to ensure compliance and competence at all times. He is a hardworking, reliable and efficient quantity surveyor who has also added the role of estimator to his skill set.
